Misery midway discussion

I honestly didn't think I would enjoy King's writing style based off of my initial reaction in Part 1. I couldn't stop picking up this book because I was so curious about:
- What happened to Misery?
- What would happen if they found Paul's car?
- What happened at Annie's job?
Though the writing style isn't my favorite, the story itself is sooo captivating. Many things I laugh at, like Annie's cockadoodie personality because it honestly reminds me of people I've met who share similar traits (though not clinically psychotic).

As soon as the book starts, the stakes feel incredibly high and everything that Annie does and says is somehow terrifying. King allows the reader to really understand Paul’s pain and fear.
At the rough midpoint (when Paul has started writing again) he seems to be regaining his agency and I am really excited to see how that escalates Annie’s “care” of him.
Be sure to check out the thread once in a while during August, as we read the book. Don't hesitate to share your opinions - likes and dislikes - and any questions or discussions about the book you might have.
