Emily (emilymitton) | 7 comments I always say that Mark Twain is easy and fun for a beginner, but if you liked Wilde you should try his "The Importance of Being Ernest." It's a play, so it's a little different to read, but it's very clever. It's one of my favorites!

Melaslithos | 3 comments If your not afraid of big books, The Three Musketeers is always a fun read.

1984, Animal Farm and the Importance of Being Earnest are all very good choices, I love these books.

If you liked the Picture of Dorian Gray, you might also like Edgar Allan Poe's short stories.

Viktoriya | 1 comments The Count of Monte Cristo is fantastic. (actually, pretty much anything by Alexander Dumas is excellent if you like adventure). If you love mysteries, who-done-it, then check out Agatha Christie, or The Moonstone The Complete Sherlock Holmes

Hilary (agapoyesoun) Dickens's 'David Copperfield', Thomas Hardy's 'Jude The Obscure' and Bram Stoker's 'Dracula'

message 11: by Ruth (new)

Ruth Can't go wrong with Mark Twain. Dicken's David Copperfield is a favorite of mine. If you like Science Fiction I would recommend The Foundation Trilogy by Asimov, Childhood's End by Clarke and anything by Ray Bradbury. I would also recommend anything by Kurt Vonnegut.

message 12: by Emily (new)

Emily (emilymitton) | 7 comments Since you liked The Picture of Dorian Gray you should try The Phantom of the Opera. Also, I would recommend Brave New World, since you liked Animal Farm.

Amyra | 4 comments Ruth is right you can try any of Kurt Vonnegut's books and you won't regret it. I would recommend Lord of the Flies by William Golding too.

message 15: by John (new)

John Bohnert I suggest that you read The Grapes of Wrath (1939) by John Steinbeck. I liked this novel so much that I then read six more books by Steinbeck.
