It's been TO long since I have posted and come by to be accountable. I wanted to pass on an Article link that I was honored to be a part of. It is research and study by Elaine Meyer of Columbia UV Dept. of Public Health. It's about how the expansion of gambling is hurting and costing us loads of money, and the effects it has on our population & communities.

This is the best article written about the impact problem & addicted gamblers also have in our communities as well. The health costs for treatment on our Public Health Depts. I shared some of my own story and they also added my books direct Amazon link. It was a huge surprise and blessing to find out.

This article was picked up by many media outlets including the NY Times, USA Today, and more. So it makes me feel blessed that more people hopefully who need help from gambling addiction can read my own story, and know they are not alone, and know there is HELP & HOPE from this cunning disease!

I hope you'll take a little time to read this article. It really is very informative, and has wonderful resources listed to for help.

God Bless All,
Catherine Townsend-Lyon, Author/Advocate

It's sad gambling doesn't get the attention other addictions get, and other addictions don't get the attention needed.

Your absolutely right that gambling addiction & problem gambling gets the attention needed. I appreciate you took the time to read the article. I think Elaine Meyer hit the nail on the head.

She really researched many aspects of this disease, and the problem it has on our health, cost, and even the expansion for casinos and State lotteries, and the impact it has on many of our communities. Best article I have read.
