The one thing I hate about damsels, is that they always fall down at the most inopportune times... so maybe a title word that has to do with injury

1.) Read two books with titles that form a "Before & After" phrase, a la Wheel of Fortune. Tenses, singular and plural, etc. must match perfectly, and each title must contain three or more words. Subtitles can be omitted for this task.For example, the last word of "The Handmaid's Tale" is the same as the first word in "Tale of Two Cities," forming the phrase "The Handmaid's Tale of Two Cities" This works as a Before & After. "Tales of the City" would not work because "Tales" is plural.
2.) Read a book that extends over two or more clearly defined timelines.
3.) Fall brings the premiere of new television shows. Read a book that inspired a television show, and indicate what the name of the show was. Shows can have premiered in any year, including fall 2019, but must have aired at least one episode by the end of the Challenge.
International Holidays:September 8 is International Literacy Day. Read one book about: books, libraries, or a main character who is a writer or librarian.
September 29 is Inventors Day. Read a book with MPG Science or Technology.
October 16 is World Food Day. Read a book with MPG Food.

A damsel in distress is always incapacitated in some way, so maybe:a book featuring someone in a coma or with someone sleeping on the cover
or a book where someone has been kidnapped and need to be rescued
or a book where one (adult) person is carrying another (adult) person on the cover

* read a book in translation where either the version you read or the original title has the word girl, but not both, e.g. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo original title: Män som hatar kvinnor (Word for word translation: men who hate women), or The Girl on the Train, Swedish language edition: Kvinnan på tåget (Word for word translation: the woman on the train). Won't work: Flickan med gåvorna(word for word translation: the girl with the gifts) The Girl With All the Gifts - both titles include the word girl. Word for word translation must be provided by poster.

The bonus theme is Characters: Damsels.
As in past challenges some tasks may revolve around the seasonal theme of fall or autumn. Others may reflect the bonus theme. Other tasks may have nothing to do with either of those themes, they’re just fun or unique ideas to stimulate your reading.
Feel free to post as many ideas as you can come up with. Don’t worry about repeating what someone else has might have already suggested. The more ideas, the better!
The moderators will draw from these ideas as well as their own to create the 5, 10 and 15 point tasks. This thread will be open for ideas until August 15. Fall tasks will begin to be posted on August 17. We look forward to seeing what you come up with!
