Jennifer (alphawolfseries) | 6 comments Hello! I am trying to search for someone who could make ePub and mobi Ebook files for me. Preferably not through createspace and whatnot. I am looking for a person, not so much a corporation. I would do it myself but I don't know how to code it plus I don't have the programs to do it.

Any hints help! Thank you!

Candace Vianna (candace_vianna) You don't need to know code. There are several free file conversion programs out there, as well as free online conversion options. Since I wrote my novel in Scrivener (not free- novel writing program that I really like) it does it all: mobi, epub, doc, pdf....

Just google file conversion (your file ext) to epub, and several options should pop up.

Jennifer (alphawolfseries) | 6 comments Where did you get your program scrivener? Is that also online? I wouldn't want to download a program that turned out to be from a virus filled site. :) thank you!

The program is available for both Mac and PC. It's $40.00us but you can there is a free trial version you can test drive. I really like it.
You can download an OEM copy here:

K.A. Jordan (kajordan) I've been using Scrivener for two years now. It has some features of a database, as well as a word processor.

There are folders, and you can put your research and character sketches right into the same file as your manuscript, so you can always find what you want.

You can open it up and start typing, or use the internal index cards to outline the book before you start writing.

I have a sub-file for the front matter and back matter of the book, to make it easier to change things. My bio, the blurbs for my other books, the character sheets, website links are all in the one file.

I print what I want or compile the manuscript into a DOC, RTF, MOBI or EPUB when I'm ready for that particular stage.

There are other programs out there, so if you don't like it, you can try something else.

Jennifer (alphawolfseries) | 6 comments Thank you, everyone for your help and advice! I took Candace's advise and learned to use Scrivener. It has definitely made a difference! I just uploaded my new Mobi file to the Kindle last night.

Thank you again, all of you, for your help!

Candace Vianna (candace_vianna) Great! I'm glad it worked for you. On a side note. I just noticed Amazon has added a free graphic novel generation app and a free children's interactive ebook generation app. I've downloaded them, but haven't had time to try them yet. Maybe somebody else has. Cheers!
