Stephen King recently said the only decent, stand-alone movies of his work are those adapted from 100 or so page stories. He says any longer and you lose too much by necessity. In most cases, I think he's right.
I wonder how long The Physician is.
Oh yes, I remember reading that somewhere. I have not been able to watch any of those movies myself.
It says 713 pages in that link of The Physician, that's at least twice the normal size of the books I usually read.

I actually didn't like Shawshank Redemption much but then again I can not say I have ever enjoyed a movie as much as the book. I have heard of several movies - Stand by me is one of them but never got around to watching it. Is that the one based on The Body or Apt Pupil? I'd like to watch A Good Marriage after reading the story, but as far as I know there is only the audio version?

A Good Marriage is being made into a movie sometime this year.
Yeah, I just need to figure out how to get them. I'm sure there are ways to find them online, I just can never seem to figure out. Too much advertising in those sites, I never know what to click...
I am glad it was a two and a half hour film because most times adaptations cut so many scenes that I get the feeling something important was left unexplained, but this movie flowed well.
Has anyone read the book? I am sure it provides an even great experience, as most if not all books do, in my experience.
