Scott In The Tenth Circle one of the characters is a comic book artist and pages from his work are interspersed through the text.

Perhaps "Emily Strange: The Lost Days" by Rob Reger. Lots of text with a fair number of images throughout the book, I think.

Are you looking for a particular genre or theme?

Keyera Haskins | 20 comments I have yet to read it, but I'm pretty sure I Am Princess X meets your criteria.

Also, The Invention of Hugo Cabret has both pages dedicated to words and others to pictures

Becca (beccalikesbooks) | 5517 comments Travels of Thelonious by Susan Schade and Jon Buller.

Some publishers call them 'hybrid graphic novels', in case that helps your search! I believe this is a Goodreads list for books like this - Great Book Hybrids

Thank you! That list is extremely helpful. Saves me the trouble of making one.
