Stacy (stacylienemann) I haven't read either, but I'm going with The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao—it has the most buzz in the tourney from the media I read. I was extremely surprised of its #2 seed in the tourney since it's won so many awards and been on every award/best of short list. It's also the book I want to read most in the tourney (hurry up, library wait list!).

(I'm 24th in line to get it at the library!)

Scott | 50 comments I have recently finished The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao and it's excellent. I would be quite pleased if it won the tournament.

Johanna | 25 comments I'll take Oscar Wao, too. It just won the National Book Critics award, so I'll pick it here too. Since Marche's genre book didn't do so well here, I'll bet Lippman suffers the same fate.

Stacy (stacylienemann) Wow. I really loved Elizabeth McCracken's thoughts on these books. She wrote a very thoughtful, personal, amusing, and opinionated piece.

Asarahm | 4 comments The "commentary on the match" is also rather entertaining - about how McCracken's piece is about the myriad reasons why we read.

Maggie | 17 comments Oscar Wao, definitely. Loooooved it.
