Joel (deliriumtrigger) | 312 comments Hey guys - it's that time again. Falling a bit behind, so let's nominate quick.

As with past months, here's the rule:

1) Nominate or second ONLY ONCE. You get one vote, either pick a book or second another.

2) First five books to get "seconded" will go to the vote and nominations will close.

3) Try to stick to "first in series" novels to make it easier on people who are not into the series

Thanks guys!

Not magic fantasy, but comes highly rated."

We already read Lions of Al-Rassan in April. Personally, I loved it, and was quite glad it was picked. You can check out our discussions here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...

Alex (asaydjari) | 2 comments Hey guys! I'm new to the group and am very excited to be part of a fantasy based book group.

I just got done reading The Way of Kings and found it to be one of my favorite books of all time across all genres. Because of that I would love to read the second book in the series Words of Radiance... but since it's not a standalone or a first in a series y'all might not be cool with it. So if Words of Radiance doesn't count I would nominate The Lies of Locke Lamora.

I might get made fun of for this next suggestion (not that I think we should necessarily read it as a group) but I also recently got done reading The Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne. This was my first foray into the "urban fantasy" genre and I only started it because my mom really pushed the series, but I have to say I found it to be extremely enjoyable. No great work of fiction by any means, but still exciting and just overall very fun reads. You could feasibly blow through the whole series in a week if you got into it. But anyway... yeah, just my two cents as a new member!
