Do we want to decide ahead of time which options for tasks we are going with?

_Three of a Kind_
Do we want to go with:
same genre
published same year or in the same month
same author
same number in its series
same number of pages (rounding to the nearest hundred: so 198 would be 200 and 212 would also be 200).

_Four of a Kind_
Do we want to go with:
same genre
published same year or in the same month
same author
same number in its series
same number of pages (rounding to the nearest hundred: so 198 would be 200 and 212 would also be 200).

_Small Straight_
Which sequence?
(1,2,3,4 OR 2,3,4,5 OR 3,4,5,6)

_Large Straight_
Which sequence?
(1,2,3,4,5 OR 2,3,4,5,6)

Sarita | 1386 comments Hi team! Glad to be part of the team!

Yes - I think it would help if we try to see how we can get the more difficult categories done.

My next def planned reads:

This treacherous journey by Misty M Beller - first in the series

A noble masquerade by Kristi Ann Hunter - also first in the series

I’m on my phone so difficult to see all the other details for this two books.

Will also go through my other planned reads and list what I’m planning etc.

Sarita | 1386 comments Anyone has a > 500 and > 600 page book for number #5 and #6 in section 1.

And do you guys want to select categories to cover first or say what we are reading and see where the best place would be to place it (to get the most points) etc.

For the 3 of a kind and 4 of a kind, do we want to go with same genre and pick Christian Fiction? I never even thought of this, but saw a different team mention it and thought it was a brilliant genre choice! What do you all think ?

That is quite smart. Because I only read Christian fiction, I assumed we have to break it down to Historical/suspense etc. So yes we can go with that.

Same! Because i read so much Christian Fiction i never thought to use that. I had expected to break it down to something more restrictive. Lol

message 22: by Angie (new)

Angie Thompson (angiethompson) | 338 comments That would make things easier! :D

I think it would be fun to use This Treacherous Journey for "three of a kind", since three of us are planning to read it.

I'm planning to start Beloved by Kaitlyn Krispense today. This could work for:
#1 - a debut novel
#2 - 200-299 pages
#5 - September publication
Three/four of a kind - Christian fiction
Large/small straight - 2 in page count

Any preferences?

message 23: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments If everyone else is happy with Angie's suggestion for three of a kind, then we can have the four of a kind category as Christian Fiction?

message 24: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments Oh - I just realised (saw on another teams thread), that we can do this more than once? So once all our categories are filled in we can start over?

Let the challenge begins :-).

message 25: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments I will be starting two books today. For sure, one will be:

This Treacherous Journey (Heart of the Mountains, #1) by Misty M. Beller

It's the first in a series and 300+ pages so would count as a 1 or a 4.

Not sure what the second book will be.

I made us a spreadsheet and filled it in with the books mentioned. If I put it in a place and you want to move it somewhere else, please do. I just tried to get everything mentioned. I figure this way we can easily see what everyone is reading. Hope this helps!

Sarita | 1386 comments Hi Team

I finished A Noble Masquerade (Hawthorne House, #1) by Kristi Ann Hunter

Does anyone else have a book they will read that a team mate or mod rated 5 stars?

Otherwise I will change the above to that category and then use Mind Games (Kaely Quinn Profiler, #1) by Nancy Mehl for section 1 - task 1.

Just wanted to check before I post my review. Once the review is posted it is fixed for that category.

message 49: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments Also, after reading A Promise to Protect (Logan Point, #2) by Patricia Bradley I will read An Elegant Façade (Hawthorne House, #2) by Kristi Ann Hunter which can work for mostly white cover if no one else has that covered by then?
