Indie Book Club discussion

Hey all,

I know I've been gone for quite a while and I'm glad to see Thaddeus is still keeping things going (thank you for that). I'll give a brief rundown on things if anyone is curious.

First off my home computer broke, it was a piece of junk anyway so not a big loss. That was followed by my daughter (who is almost 4) being diagnosed with high functioning autism. She had already been doing speech therapy for a while, but she got put in a more intense program. She has started a preschool that specializes in kids with similar diagnoses. She also has an eye that occasionally drifts off and that required special autism eye exams (I still don't understand that, but man they can be expensive!) and glasses. She may require vision therapy if things don't go well with the glasses. In short, time and money haven't been really available lately.

I can occasionally check things out on my computer at work and I read comments sometimes from my phone, but I just don't have the time that I did when I was trying to run this group. I'm very glad to see that membership has expanded and people are still talking and hopefully the authors that I interacted with regularly have seen some success. Feel free to email me or send me a GR message if you ever want to chat, though I'm not great at responding to GR and it may take a while to respond to emails.

I am still reading and getting the occasional review written and hope that someday I will be able to get a bit more active.

Hey Scott, sad to hear of your news (but glad to see you on).

I put the BotM and OBotM on hiatus for a little while (we had some active discussions but the last couple were a bit quiet so I thought that was best. Hope to resurrect them sooner or later).

Hope your daughter can make good progress with speech therapy, and things run on an even keel.
