The Search question

So a while back I read a book and I would like to read again. However, I cannot remember the name or author. I only remember bits and pieces so I thought maybe some of you might be able to help.

It was a Detective romance type novel. The normal female hero meets good looking guy detective(I think). She has a past relationship with a cop. Said cop discovered that she had minimal powers to ‘see’ things. He used that to his advantage at his work as he was a detective that looked for lost people. They went along for quite awhile until he dumped her and she used her powered to try and get him back. This did not end well as the child they were looking for was not where she said he was and things went south from there.
This makes her hesitant to help the new guy who is looking for someone. She doesn’t want tot all the new guy about the issues before but in the end she does and he understands. She ultimately decided to help and things work out.
