1. October is when fall really kicks in. Read a book set in the fall OR read a book with a tree on it whose leaves are changing colors or have fallen to the ground.

2. October's zodiac signs are Libra and Scorpio. We will focus on Scorpio this month. Libra is the 8th sign in the zodiac and represented by a scorpion. The symbol of the scorpion is based on Scorpio who was the scorpion sent by Gaia to kill Orion in Greek mythology.
People born under the Scorpio sign are said to be Loyal, Passionate, Resourceful, Observant, Dynamic, Jealous, Obsessive, Suspicious, Manipulative, Unyielding
Read a book that is eighth in a series OR a book with a scorpion on the cover OR a book in the mythology genre OR with a character who displays at least two of Scorpio's personality characteristics. If choosing the characteristics please be sure to tell us which ones your character displays.

3. This task is simple. Read a book published in October of any year

5. October's major holiday is Halloween. Read a book with candy on the cover OR a book whose main character is what you want to be for halloween (ex: Doctor, vampire, fairy, cop, etc)

7. October is Computer Learning Month and October 3rd is "Techie Day". Read a book with a computer on the cover OR a book where the Main character is good with computers or whose job is a tech OR a book that has a lot of text speak (ex- ttfn

8. October 5th of this year ends Oktoberfest in Germany. Read a book set in Germany (plus points if the book is set in Munich, Bavaria, Germany) OR read a book where there is a huge fair OR read a book with an alcoholic beverage on the cover (plus points if its beer!)

9. October 6th is Mad Hatter Day. Read a book with a main character who is crazy/mad OR read a book with a hat on the cover OR read a retelling of Alice in Wonderland OR read the classic Alice in Wonderland book by Lewis Carroll.

10. October 12 is when the Walking Dead comes back on in the US. This is my favorite show and I have been agonizingly waiting for it to come back. So read a book that features zombies OR read a book in the dystopian/post-apocalyptic/apocalyptic genre OR read a book that was made into a tv show.
