Life.
A fiery spark
Burning proud
A determined beast
Plodding steadily onward
A blossoming lily
Delicately dancing
A gust of wind
Flying free.
Life.
Holding such beauty
While it lasts.

Death.
Sparks quenched
Beasts shot
Lilies crushed
Winds trapped
The minuscule moment
Of beauty is lost
Others endure
But for what?
In the end
What are they?

Just stories, memories
Surviving only through others
Slowly
They are lost
To time.
Death.
Destroying life
One piece at a time
Leaving us with one hope-
To remember.

I. Them.

I was like a gust of wind,
Sometimes caged
But never really captured.

They were like a storm,
Brewing in the distance,
Ready to strike,
Ready to destroy.

I was like a soft breeze,
Tangible,
Yet always there
If you could simply see it.

They were like a hurricane,
Whirling,
Not unlike to the swirls of cotton candy,
But bringing the opposite.

I was free.
They were caged.
I was myself.
They were something else.
