Just started this. Read the prologue. It's good to be back in this world :)

For some reason I thought this was scheduled for the 22nd... be here soon...

I'm still stuck in the first book. It's a re - read and I can skip it, though, but I think I've forgotten many things to read the second one.

I've been reading the book off and on over the weekend... Exilecon in New Zealand, and my crazy holiday work schedule / issues have gotten in the way of finishing at my usual speed...

Anyway, as the story progresses, I find myself wondering (view spoiler)[who the good guys here... everything seems like shades of gray and bad decisions for the greater good... it reminds me of the revelations in Oathbringer and the badly executed bad guy "twist" in the Faithful and the Fallen...

I find myself distrustful of this angel/god/good immortal vs bad immortal thing... I'm expecting to find out that we have the roles backwards or something, and Caden was right to do what he did to "thwart fate"... (hide spoiler)]

Finally finished, and WOW... I was going to come in here and talk a bit how the book suffered MINORLY from being the middle book of the trilogy, and so certain things obviously stall a bit because of it... but so many other great reading moments happen that it barely matters, still a great book...

THEN I got to that epilogue, and started googling spoilers and people with better theorycrafting/detail-collecting eyes than my ears... and I'm just WOW all over again...

SO... (view spoiler)[them last pages, where Caeden / Devaed kills Davian were painful to read... and for a second I was confused that this was a memory and not a now thing... (which is kinda stupid on my part, but anyway)...

THEN I was reading on the wiki, then I was lead to another GR discussion, and read about people's conclusions that Caeden / Devaed / Tal'kemar is also Malshash...

I knew this book was timey-wimey, but I didn't realize it was going to have a full-on time loop / paradox, looping between Caeden and Davian... (hide spoiler)]

Some of my theories about (view spoiler)[El (hide spoiler)] seem to have proven true, as well...

I'm going to have to re-read this trilogy again in the future... I can see why some are doing it now... definitely a trilogy with layers, and we haven't even seen the conclusion, yet... just another thing to compare about it with Sanderson books :)

Still stuck on the first one (together with a reading slump, busy at work and a massive cold) , but if someone can give me a summary of the first, I can go to the second. I've read the first one before the BR, but I'm afraid that I've forgotten a lot.

I've just read Chapter 1 of this so far. Got a lot on my plate these days, so I'm not really in the mood for reading (eyeball-reading, at least) and when I do, I want funny, simple or "action-heavy".

This series is great, but simple, it is not :p

I think I'll just do the trilogy next year. I haven't bought the 3rd book and it doesn't feel right to skip the first one, even if I've read it.
