I am starting October with the first Longmire book and Rebuild (a zombie book for the Halloween holiday) by Joe Imhoff.

I'm about 30% through "Foundation and Empire" by Asimov.

I just finished The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell. This is my 25th for the year!

I forgot to post that I finished Fobbit by David Abrams and The Bird Eater by Ania Ahlborn in September.

I read Under the Wide and Starry Sky by Nancy Horan a fictional story of Robert Lewis Stevenson. Good read

The 100 Year Old Man by Jonas Jonasson could have been shorter. Too much information of a 100 year old man but very humorous especially the currant portion of the book.

The Orphan Train by Christina Kline Very interesting read of the orphans of the eastern US moved to the Midwest.

Beachcombers by Nancy Thayer good read for a summer break.

On the Edge by Alison Levine excellent for a leadership read. Also this gal is an extreme mountain climber. The 7 peaks, and N and S pole on skis.
It is great reading about her climbs up Everest

I am reading TimeRiders by Alex Scarrow, and by reading I mean audiobook while I am working :). I am not to sure how I feel about it, it loses my attention often. Guess I will wait till I finish to conclude my feelings.

Number 100 was MR. MERCEDES by Stephen King.

INSIDE THE DREAM PALACE by Sherril Tippins is my 101st book.

About a quarter of the way through The Complete Idiot's Guide to Buying a Home by Peter Richmond - that's book #23, and also starting on #24 - Elmer Gantry by Sinclair Lewis.

I'm getting ready to go on vacation and am hoping to spend A LOT of time just reading...

Just finished #25, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. For me, it just wasn't the page-turner that it was hyped to be. The beginning was slow and it took quite a while to get into it. The characters were quirky and not especially likeable. I did enjoy the murder mystery plot, but once the mystery was solved, I wanted the book to end. Instead, there were 50 additional pages to wrap up the subplot (Wennerstrom affair) which were unnecessary and boring.

Agreed - I pushed on and the next two were much better!

Despite both of us reading many books this year - I believe this is the only one that we have in common.

That is kind of odd. What have been your favorites? Recently. I read A TALE FOR THE TIME BEING which was one of my favorite books from 2013. And I'm enjoying Margaret Atwood's STONE MATTRESS very much right now. King has something new coming out in a month, I think. I'm planning on reading that right away and sometime next year I'll read UNDER THE DOME. I'm kind of up in the air about what other directions to go. FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD or ANNA KARENA? The new David Mitchell or Oscar Hijuelos? The Tom Robbins memoir or the Tom Rachman? I really liked the Jesmyn Ward I read this year and have her other books. Ultimately, I read what my mood calls for. I wish I could get paid for this.

Best have been Wonder by R.J. Palacio, Lightning by Koontz, Midning in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt, and The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay - there are several more really good ones, just check out my list! (I think you said earlier in the year that you had read some of them before, just not this year). Also, some great non fiction - Argo, Rabid, Orange is the New Black, Soul Surfer, and Monuments Men.

THE BOOK OF KONG by William Trowbridge is #102.

My 103rd book is STONE MATTRESS: NINE TALES by Margaret Atwood. One of the best books I've read for this challenge.

PANTHER IN THE HIVE by Olivia A. Cole is #104. A rollicking, action-packed dystopia with fashion-conscious heroine who might be more at home with the country in ruins then she might care to admit.

AFTER THE MUSIC STOPPED by Alan S. Blinder is #105. Don't bother. Read Matt Taibibi instead.

My 106th book was the beautiful and strange Pedro Paramo by Juan Rulfo.

DON'T START ME TALKING by Tom Williams is 107 and Pablo Neruda's RWENTY LOVE POEMS AND A SONG OF DESPAIR is 108.

My 109th is HAUNTED BASEBALL by Michael Bradley and Dan Gordon.

Alright, I better get my reads in under the wire. I finished We Think the World of You by J.R. Ackerley for #26. Number 27 was The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein.

I'm five away from yearly goal of 32 books in my 32nd year!

THE QUIET WOMAN by Terence Faherty is my 110th.

My 111th is Michael Chabon's GENTLEMEN OF THE ROAD.

Seemed like it was written for film adaptation - down to the product placement. I read the second one too - both were loaned to me by a coworker because I'm a "reader." The held my attention only because there was nothing else to read...

Read a three of the Larson books. I think the beginning was difficult. Remember this was a translation. I heard the NPR interview of his girlfriend. It was very interesting. He had intended to write many more. Reading before the film was easier.

Finished The Daring Ladies of Lowell. Great read a little history and a little mystery.
