Love it! I can add: You feed your family take-out every night until you finally finish the book, and pray that your daughter has enough clean clothes to last so you don't have to waste valuable reading time doing laundry.
A book you don't (fully) like can take over too because there's sooo much you need to talk out of your system! Once I was emailing the author telling her all the ideas of hers that I fully disagreed with and why - because some of the ideas I thought were very dangerous and they hit too close to home. The email conversation was going back and forth. It was a really good conversation, actually, and I think the author heard what I was saying, at least she was listening. Then I got it out of my system and we went about our lives again.
Generally, an individual book doesn't take over my life, but a series that has a fandom has taken over my life in the past. The type of fandom that causes this phenomenon is developed enough to include its own discussion boards, fan websites, clubs, fanfic and conventions. I ended up meeting many others whose life has been taken over by the series.
The last one I read that I couldn't put down for anything was "The Longest Ride" by Nicholas Sparks. I've felt pretty much that way about every single one of his books but this one was my absolute favorite. I can't WAIT for the movie. Clint Eastwood's son will play the main male character. I also love his movies, when "The Lucky One" came out I made my hubby take me on opening night and got to the theater two hours early so I could get the perfect seat. Now "The Best of Me" comes out in two weeks and I'm actually thinking about skipping my clogging class to go on opening night. My instructor will KILL me because we have a show the next day, but it's NICHOLAS SPARKS!!!
What about you? Can you add any?
