Heard this question on NPR... what do you think?

I am the first to admit that the internet sucks up a lot of my time. There are good and bad things about it, but I think the good outweighs the bad. I get to make new friends and keep in touch with family and friends that I wouldn't otherwise because of distance. I feel like I've gotten closer to a lot of my family because we can keep track of what's going on in each other's lives. Not to mention, it's a great prayer network. I can post and have people all over the world praying in a matter of a few minutes.

I have to say before I got sick and home bound I wasn't on the internet so much. I have a lot of panic if I get on fb so I don't get on there very much even though I have tons of really good friends on there. A lot of them have my address for snail mail and phone number. The only shame about being on there is my family don't connect with me on there. I get more support and nice things from strangers than from family. I actually get nothing said from family. I don't like being on the computer too much but I seem to spend more time on here and Amazon than anywhere else :) I keep trying to connect with more people that love wildlife, animals of all kinds. People who love books and are serious people. There are so many fakes out there, another reason I don't go on FB much, too many stalkers and hackers and people trying to be better than anyone else. I have too many health issues to worry about that stuff but it still gets to me. One thing though, I would never have found this wonderful group if a snail mail pen pal didn't mention GoodReads to me. Wonderful people on here for sure!
