Wilhelmina Jenkins | 2049 comments I just wanted to point out that my 2 favorite Listopia lists - both written by members of LFPC - have been updated for 2015.

Beverly's Anticipated Literary Reads For Readers of Color 2015 can be found here:

https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/7...

And Addy's There Is Sweetness In Bitter-Leaf, At The End: Forthcoming Books for 2015 by Authors of African Descent can be found here:

https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/7...

Because there has been some discussion about finding books by African American women, I made a list - Literary Fiction and Memoirs by African American Women - 2014. It's here:

https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/7...

Check out the lists, vote for your favorites, and help spread the word!

Thanks Wilhelmina!
Had a friend that was looking for books by AA women.

Still adding books to my 2015 list as still have a couple of lists to go through as work projects have been keeping me busy.

I still have a lot of books to still read from 2014 list. :)

Here's some additional information on the 2015 Toni Morrison release, God Help the Child. Sounds interesting. Anything you looking forward to next year?:

Beverly | 2907 comments Yes, I am also excited about God Help the Child

A couple of others that I looking forward to reading"

The Lost Child: A Novel by Caryl Phillips - it has been a while since he has had a new release - enjoy his storytelling

Loving Day: A Novel by Mat Johnson - enjoy whatever he writes

Driving the King: A Novel by Ravi Howard - has a starred review from Publishers Weekly - liked his first book

The Sellout by Paul Beatty - I am sure this one will generate interesting discussions - has several starred reviews

One Night in Mississippi by Craig Shreve - debut novel

Disgruntled by Asali Solomon - liked the blurb and the premise of the storyline

Mr. and Mrs. Doctor by Julie Iromuanya - this book was on my tbr list because of the storyline but even more intrigued now as it is set in Nebraska :)

Balm: A Novel by Dolen Perkins-Valdez - liked Wench and this is historical fiction

And of course have a long list of many others - never know where my next "wow" reading is coming from.

Peggy | 48 comments Hi Wilhelmina -

Publishers' Weekly is out with its list of African American upcoming titles (actually Oct., '14 - March, '15). Many I had already read about.

Adult

Children/Young Adult

Kareem Jabbar has a new book coming out. Mo'ne's book is out in March. A 13 year old with an autobiography.

Not on the list but might be interesting - Jason Reynolds' THE BOY IN THE BLACK SUIT.

Thanks for the link to the NAACP list.

Anxiously awaiting....

September '15 Percival Everett Half an Inch of Water: Stories

One of Graywolf’s most widely respected, beloved, and prolific writers Percival Everett is back on form, and back out west, with a wickedly funny collection of stories, Half an Inch of Water. This is not a linked collection, but arguably, hiding and seeking could be the theme that unites them. Whether it is a man on horseback looking for a lost girl possessed it seems of magical powers on a mountain trail, or a man intent on finding out why a mysterious note has appeared on his door, Everett enwraps us in his storytelling until we too are utterly caught up in tracking down the elusive answers.

So glad to see these lists updated for next year - they were great references for me this year. I just added a vote for Delicious Foods by James Hannaham, which I heard about several months ago and have been very curious about since.
