Alternate Realities: A Scifi Book Club discussion

Did anyone have a favorite character or sub plot story? I thought the pharma company cheating people was pretty good touch and I could see someone doing that.

I read this awhile ago, so I don't remember a lot of the details. I do remember, however, the soldier talking about them shooting the dead until they were piled high around them. I also remember (I think it was in this book) the luring of the undead off tall buildings to plunge to their destruction below.
