Ida | 3 comments It's about this woman who is obviously on the run (I can remember her being described to have badly colored hair and chewed up nails).
She seeks out this man to teach her how to use a gun. They fall in love. She refused to tell him or his sister who she is so they lifts her prints from a glass.
She is on the run from her psycotic husband who is apperently a master when it comes to costumes, he can totally change his appearance. And he used to be a cop.
They have a daughter together that she has hidden away.
Her husban forbade her from entering the cellar but one times she goes down there anyway and he catches her. He forces her to close her eyes (or blindfolds her, can't remember). He puts her hand into bowls and tricks her into thinking they contain eyeballs and stuff, they're just grapes though.
He breaks her femur with a bat I think, that leaves this long scar down her thigh.

Her psyco-husband kills the hero's sister, cracks her skull and nearly kills the hero but the heroine shoots him with a shotgun.
The book ends with her being pregnant with the hero's child and they live happily ever after.

I can't for the life of my remember the book title or the author and I can't find it either. Really grateful for some help! :D

Ida, around what year did you read this book?
What's the location?
Had the ex-husband been convicted of any crimes?

That's great! Glad you found your book. :) I can see why it's tricky finding your title as a number of books fit this theme. I got lucky with this Google search:
