I'm gonna try to complete this one, as well. :) But, I have a question... Since this is my first monthly mini-challenge, do all the books have to be cozy mysteries? I've picked out books for each, but two of them would be classified more as thriller mysteries, rather than cozies. Thanks for any info! :)
I think that it's not necessary them to be cozy mystery (neither mystery at all), but I'm not sure.

Sorry ladies. Got caught up getting my son ready for his Boy Scout Eagle board of review. At the very last minute they changed it to next month. I've also had to re-sew his 35 merit badges onto a larger sash as he's outgrown his old one. Figured I better do it before they take his official pictures for the paper and we take some portraits of him in full class A uniform.
NOTE 1: Books do not have to be all cozy mysteries for the mini-challenges. That is entirely optional and some prefer to do that. We're just happy if you join in, in whatever way is easiest or the most fun for each person.
Note 2: Because this was started late, (Thank you Heather for helping out!!), any book that you read this month can count towards this challenge. So if you read it the first week before this was posted, it can still count. :)

No need to be sorry, Briansgirl. I was only worried you could be ill. Curious the info about Boy Scout for this Spanish woman.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month — Undead and Uneasy
World Card Making Day — Read a book that involves crafts of some sort.
Take Your Teddy Bear to Work Day and Plush Animal Day — Read a book that features a stuffed animal.

Oops, sorry I forgot to mention in the initial post that any book/genre can count towards the challenge. I'll edit to include that.

The Boy Scouts started in England. They are in many countries around the world as they hold a world Jamboree every year. Eagle Scout is their highest honor and only 10% off all scouts reach that rank. You must meet all the requirements before you age out at 18. My eldest son has met all the requirements with just his board of review to go. He turns 18 in March of next year. My second son is Life scout with just Eagle to go. He has one more merit badge to go (21 are needed for eagle, 11 required ones and 10 elective ones), plus he has to do his eagle scout project. They perform a community service project and show leadership leading the entire project. My eldest son's project was to fix the landscaping around the government building, the National Weather Service Office, outside of town. We removed bad trees, removed branches scraping the building, trimmed up the landscaping, removed an old rundown fence, put in two patio areas, and reinforced the base of their sign and added landscaping. It total it was over 200 hours of community service by the volunteers. Reaching Eagle Scout is a major honor. It looks good on resumes, job applications. If you join the military you get your first rank free, based on your leadership training you've already received.

Thanks Heather. My deceased brother was an Eagle Scout and incredibly proud of it. He was very active in scouting his whole life. At the time of his death (he saved his son from drowning, then drown himself), he was active in the Boy Scouts and cub master of their local pack. The Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts lined both sides of the path into the cemetery with flags, then marched down the hill to salute him at the burial. I'd never seen that done except for military.
At the time I was a single mother, so I'd put my boys into Boy Scouts so they'd have positive male role models and be taught things like camping that I didn't really do anymore. Eldest, 17 is making Eagle Scout now with his board of review coming up, middle son, 14, is Life Scout with only one merit badge and his eagle project left to do, and youngest is a second year cub scout webelo working towards his Arrow of Light award (highest Cub Scout award and the only cub scout award you are allowed to wear on a boy scout uniform). He'll be a boy scout next year. And with them so involved in scouting, I'm remarried (3 years this past week) and the youngest growing up and able to participate, I've been volunteering with the Boy Scouts more myself. I sit on some of the boards of review for the younger scouts, the occasional committee meeting and took over as the troop popcorn kernel. (That means I'm in charge of the troop's annual fund raiser where we sell popcorn every fall.)

Kate: That is quite an honor paid to your brother. I'd never heard of that for scouting, either. Sounds like you have reason to be proud of all of your boys. My sisters and I all did Brownies, but only did Girl Scouts a few years.
