If you are an author, please feel free to introduce yourself and your book(s) in this thread ☺ We'll also add your books to our new 'YA Buddy Readers' Corner Authors' bookshelf here - https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...

Thanks everybody!

Mirella Muffarotto (mirellamuffarotto) | 16 comments Craving U (The Rook Café, #1) by Llàrjme Young Adult Contemporary Book

Hi! Nice to meet you, guys ヽ(ヅ)ノ
I'm Llàrjme (aka Mirella Muffarotto) and I grew up in Milan, where I started writing Young Adult fiction under this pen name. I'm the author of Craving U (The Rook Café, book 1) and I'm currently at work on the sequel.

Craving U is a young adult novel about first loves, friendship and life-changing moments, an emotional whirlwind of passion, torment, expectations and doubts, dreams and love: gentle but reckless young love, a love made up of exclusive, overpowering feelings, a totalizing emotion, complete in and of itself, that turns your legs to jelly and leaves you breathless, driving your heart to pound out of bounds.

"He means the whole universe to her, and she means even more to him....
more than he can admit."

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Craving U is the book 1 of The Rook Café series, but can also be read as a standalone. A contemporary coming-of-age novel with emotional ups and downs, a romantic and addictive story for readers looking for intense, consuming true love.

This title is enrolled in the Kindle Unlimited program.

Thanks a million, YA Buddy Readers' Corner, for this incredible opportunity of introducing ourselves and our books to you:-D

Brendan Murphy | 4 comments I know, I've just done two trips to the UK in a little over a fortnight; the first time to nurse my father through his terminal illness, the second for his funeral. Surreal would be the best way to describe how I am feeling right now. ;-)

Bethany | 92 comments Hello! I just found about this website I wish I would have realized it was here sooner because I love YA books and am always open to new ones. I'm an author and I just published my first book a few days ago. I'm a full time pediatric nurse who loves to read and write in my spare time because it takes you into a different world.

The title of my book is "Dark Lightning" and its a YA novel about elementals.

Here's the description:
Ever dreamed of having control over an element? Ava Sparks didn’t. She was just a normal girl without a passing thought that there could be something out there other than humans. Until her seventeenth birthday.

In a moment of panic, something unthinkable happens: lightning surged out of her hands. Soon after, she is swept away into the world of elementals. At Westville Boarding School, she is drawn into a society full of dark secrets, power, and rivalry, and she must find her place in the battle Ms. Masters, the leader of the elementals, is set on instigating against humans.

Aided by her best friend Harper McGee, she realizes her true potential and the benefits of wielding lightning. However, reoccurring nightmares are testing the limits of her sanity and the fact that an unavoidable darkness follows the lightning doesn't help. When the past and present starts to collide, secrets are revealed and fate is hard to avoid. Throw in the infuriating, but mouth-watering, Nathan Yates and life is no longer easy. She instantly feels drawn to him, no matter how rude he is or how hard he pushes her away.

T.K. Rapp (tkrapp) Hello all!!
My name is TK. I have a few books out, but my newest, Finding Laila, is releasing January 13 and is YA. I'm very excited about this one. Here's the blurb:

Joey, Cole, Haden and Braxton have been a constant in my life since
I was five, and I have loved being one of the guys.

I’ve been cheerleader.

I’ve been study partner.

I’ve been listener.

When we’re young, we don’t realize the profound impact certain people will have on our lives. I had no idea twelve years ago I’d meet four boys who would turn out to be my best friends, my soul mates - my barmy.

Now school is almost done, our last summer together is drawing closer, and I’m trying to hold on to what we have while I still can. After this we’ll have to say goodbye to each other, as our choices will take our lives in different directions. But I don't know if our friendship can survive once secrets and surprises begin revealing themselves to us at every turn.

When it’s all said and done, will our friendships remain unbreakable? Or will our once strong bond prove to be weaker than we anticipated?

Letting go is harder than I thought, but some changes are necessary.

And finding Laila...finding myself…may be the greatest journey of all.

P.D. Kalnay Hi, my name is Peter and I’m new to Goodreads and to this group, but I’ll shamelessly plug a book anyway. I’ve written a number of books, but never made any real effort to publish anything. I recently decided to start with a fantasy series that I began as an experiment to see if I could write a fantasy book that my little sister would like (she complained that I didn’t write any books with heroines). The result is The Spiders of Halros.
FYI it’s currently free at Amazon.com and few other places if you are outside the US and your local amazon won’t price match it down to free. I haven’t decided yet if the first book of the series will be left at free or not.
If you like it please leave a review, if not…shhh ;)

J. Cotter | 11 comments Hello, goodreaders! My name is Jessica Cotter and I, too, am an author (All The Roads, published 12/2014). I kind of became one on accident. I didn't really mean to write a book, but it haunted me (seriously, I couldn't quit thinking about it). And then I put it on paper and tried to ignore it, but it still wouldn't go away. I finally published it and feel a little better. :)

I am a high school teacher and the general age group of about 16-25 facinates me. I feel like it is such a pivotal time in people's lives as they find themselves and develop an identity- and make decisions that are different than when they were younger.

I am currently working on a two book series that I am pretty excited about. It is kind of a dystopian future story, but not all that impossible and the kind of story that could happen anywhere in the world. I will try to put a few sneak peeks on my author page soon.

If you are interested in my first novel, you can find it here: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... . I think Sarah has opened it up for a "read to review" and there are some spots left if you are interested in a free read.

People always ask me what my first book is about. It is hard to describe; I'd say it is a love story at heart, but I also think most books are love stories at heart. It's about people, ideas, decisions, loving someone, losing someone- all the things that define the early parts of our adult lives. The book is told out of order, which felt really important as I wrote it. I feel like we experience our lives out of order. We think about our futures, we remember our pasts, we focus on the moment, all day long. The book I think emphasizes that in unique ways.

Anyway, I am a goodreads author, so you can always message me or leave me a question on my author page. I love readers in general, as reading is what makes the world go round.

Happy reading!
Jessica

P.J. Davitt Hello fellow book lovers and wordsmiths

First time novelist, long time chief football/soccer writer covering the game at the top level in England and occasionally abroad, with privileged access to some of the biggest and most recognisable faces in the sport.
A childhood passion for fictional football stories fired my love of books to produce 'One Shot at Glory' a tale of a teenager's fight to make it in a ruthless world far removed from the glamour and the fame that surrounds the global superstars of the game.
Would love any feedback. Aiming to write a regular blog on my author page to give an insight into the beautiful game at the elite level.
Thanks guys for the opportunity. Much appreciated...

I have to say writing the third in a series is certainly tougher - especially if you have said it is the final one!!
