So I was hoping that you guys could have a poll or something ready for November so that group members can choose between options for your category for December

That is up to you. If it is a series, you can have the sequel be the book for next week, or you don't have to continue the series. It is up to you. There will be one of my polls coming up with Hunger Games and Divergent as options (however, I think Hunger Games will win - I accidentally started it early and it already has 4 votes, but it will really be starting in November to read for January).

Question: we're all responsible for a Read-of-the-month, right? As in, individually? Or do we, as a group of moderators, vote for them?

You can decide a topic starting the month of December for a read. I would make a poll or something of some options to gauge what our group would most likely like to read, but it's up to you how you want to go about it

Managed to read a couple of books yesterday... I was having withdrawals! Even convinced my six year old to sit down and read with me tonight!

Sorry for not being active lately, guys. I had a procedure done on my back on Friday and have been recovering in bed all week.

I don't seem to get much participation on my threads, can I improve it or what, I feel like giving up!

I think now that school is starting up again that people won't be as active. I think you're doing great Colleen! I think as we get more people and start inviting more people to join, that we will have more traffic. I try to send reminders on polls, etc. Maybe we need to focus on the mainstream books. For example, I just posted the Paper Towns thread the other day and it had traffic. Hopefully we will see more activity once my Series Read settles down to one series haha (my bad). I think we might be overwhelming people with the amount of books available to read per month. Just my thoughts

Well, maybe. Personally, I think variety is vital to our group's success, but not too much. I also think some people believe that all the group's books are mandatory. I think to solve this, we could try One series/book per MOD with an alternate each month.

I made our twitter page by request. Nikki said she will send the pics sometime, so for now I used random images. Also BetweenWords was taken so the only viable option was one with GR after haha.

As for participation...I'm sorry you feel that way. I agree that as the group gets larger, more people will reply to the thread. I think a lot of people may be busy with the end of the school year.
