So, I'm reading this book called Solemate. It's not one that I would normally pick up but I'm enjoying it. The author uses practical exercises and great examples to help the reader uncover what Wayne Dyer would probably call "false truths." These are the beliefs that form the negative thoughts that can prevent you from realizing your full potential. Solemate helps you make the connection as to which false truths generate a lot of the fears you may have. One of her examples has to do with a fear of being destitute, which she connects with her false truth of not being able to take care of herself. She helps you draw connections between how your family's conditioning envokes these false truths, so you can address fears and change your thoughts. Really, it's more than thoughts. It would be shifting your entire paradym (sp). And what I like is that it gives practical advice and thoughtful exercises that help apply concepts you may have already learned from Wayne Dyer or Deepak Choppra and many others. The book really focuses on helping you become whole.

This is really a slow read. I find myself "stuck" on visualization exercises toward the end of the book. I'm curious whether you guys experience the same problem. It's hard not to fall back into established patterns of thinking and in doing so it effects my ability to visualize what life could become. Partly this also has to do with my "anything goes" attitude. I'll try anything once (maybe twice) and sometimes don't know whether my "great ideas" are really ones that i should pursue!
