Paul While this was an option book, I just think it's too good not to endlessly drone on about in a post. Daniel Handler captures a very mature narrator in a very bizarre situation-- a girl is dumping the remnants of a relationship on a past lover's doorstep, and writing notes for each piece of memorabilia in the box. Fantastic stuff.

I think my favorite part of the book is her tone. Handler captures a strange mixture of regret, anger, resentment, and cleverness. Min is able to look back on everything with a bit more sense than while the relationship happened, and explained to Ed why they aren't together chronologically. She has a sharp wit, a charismatic personality, and this could easily become an instant classic.

Bobby Karmakar Lemony Snicket is my childhood hero. He is why I grew up to love reading and books and may have even influenced myself as a writer and aspiring novelist. This novel was Daniel at his finest. I too enjoyed Min's tone. I had to keep reminding myself this story wasn't going to end well and then when they do breakup because of the reason, ARGH! Like a book tuber said, he feels like he just went through a breakup. Haha!
I have yet to read his adult books and look forward to his new adult novel We Are Pirates. I think that may be my first adult book by him. Tres excited!!
