Dianne Please post your vote for one of the following, note that you agree to finishing the book with us if your vote wins. I'll keep the tally here in the first post - poll will end Thursday September 26 at midnight eastern time so we have the weekend to find our book. We will begin October 1 - Happy Voting!

ps - you can change your vote up until the deadline and can vote for a book other than your nomination or second

1. Wives and Daughters - Wives and Daughters
2. The Way We Live Now- The Way We Live Now
3. The Last of the Mohicans - The Last of the Mohicans

Dianne I vote for The Way We Live Now

Christopher (Donut) | 81 comments I vote for TWWLN, too.

Linda | 1425 comments That was a fast round of nominations. I just got here! lol. :D

I'm hesitant to officially vote, but if TWWLN wins, then I'll see how the reading schedule looks. That one's been on my list for awhile.

Jazzy Lemon (jazzylemon) Definitely one of the two English ones. You can make a poll you know and everyone can vote.

message 6: by Pamela (new)

Pamela (bibliohound) | 161 comments I vote for Wives and Daughters as I've read the other two.

Jazzy Lemon (jazzylemon) Three isn't much to chose from. Also I thought your 'chunkster' meant over 800pp and The Last of the Mohicans is only 410, which i would think is just 'normal'.

message 8: by Dianne (new)

Dianne Sure I can set up a poll. I'll also reopen the nom thread since Jazzy is correct that Last of the mohicans technically doesn't qualify. So next second wins!

message 9: by Dianne (new)

Dianne I'll close this thread and send out poll tomorrow with the TWWLN and Wives and daughters and our mystery third choice.

Great to see you Linda! Yep the speed nomination process is an experiment.

Jazzy Lemon (jazzylemon) Darn! Tristam shandy under 500 pp too. lets go for The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling 1024 pages

yes speedy nominations aren't very good because i would be away at classes when they happen!

I'm going to keep Tristam since the Penguin version is well over 500 pages.
