This is a book that I would have read regardless of the assignment. It is the sixth and final book of the Gone series. The story is set in the small town of Perdido Beach. When suddenly all people above the age of 15 disappear and a mysterious dome erects around the town, all hell breaks loose. People and animals begin to mutate and take on comic-like powers. The children in the dome are tasked with not only rebuilding society but also survival. Whether it be from other kids, mutated animals, starvation, plague or even themselves, the children of the FAYZ have to contend with danger from all sides while dealing with the tribulations of childhood and adolescence. This book series is in my opinion the best and most riveting book series I have ever read and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys fantasy or dystopian books.
