2025 Reading Challenge discussion

I placed a hold at the library for this book, so just waiting for it to get here. I should have it by next weekend and will start it then.

I read this in high school and really enjoyed it, even though it's a bit different from the movie. I'm interested to hear what you both think - hope you don't mind if I follow along with the discussion.

I don't mind at all. I know the movie is older but I still enjoy it and I tend to enjoy books more than movies so I am looking forward to reading it.

I just finished part one of the book. There are a few differences from the movie, but I am enjoying it so far. It is just starting to really pick up and get good.

I finished this book. It was interesting and I enjoyed it. It was different from the movie. (view spoiler)[ I wasn't a fan of Ellen in the books. She was neutral in the movie, but I didn't like her in the book. I also feel like there was more that happened in the movie than happened in the book. I enjoyed the book, but was expecting a little more. (hide spoiler)]

I was surprised that more people didn't mention (view spoiler)[Matt Hooper's affair with Ellen Brody (hide spoiler)] which was a part of the book that didn't make it into the movie. I had a hard time imagining that scene with Richard Dreyfuss in the Hooper role.
