The story is supposed to be over.

Simon Snow did everything he was supposed to do. He beat the villain. He won the war. He even fell in love. Now comes the good part, right? Now comes the happily ever after…

So why can’t Simon Snow get off the couch?

What he needs, according to his best friend, is a change of scenery. He just needs to see himself in a new light…

That’s how Simon and Penny and Baz end up in a vintage convertible, tearing across the American West.

They find trouble, of course. (Dragons, vampires, skunk-headed things with shotguns.) And they get lost. They get so lost, they start to wonder whether they ever knew where they were headed in the first place…

With Wayward Son, Rainbow Rowell has written a book for everyone who ever wondered what happened to the Chosen One after he saved the day. And a book for everyone who was ever more curious about the second kiss than the first. It’s another helping of sour cherry scones with an absolutely decadent amount of butter.

Come on, Simon Snow. Your hero’s journey might be over – but your life has just begun.

Cindee | 2596 comments I am currently 103 pages into this book I still love the characters and the story is progressing well. I still really like Simon and Baz even if there are many issues with their relationship with Simon being pretty much depressed and Baz getting to the point he can not take anymore of how Simon is now. I really like the plot with it starting with a road trip to try to help Simon get out of this funk he is in. So overall I like how the story is progressing not much has happened yet.

Cindee | 2596 comments I am 204 pages into this book and I still really like it the adventure is interesting as is Baz and Simon getting closer again. I really like the characters especially Baz and Simon they go well together. I really like Penny as well she is a really interesting and well written character. I like the plot they killed some monsters and fight and ran away from others and are now on their way to save Agatha. I am really liking this book so far it is a great sequel to Carry On.

Cindee | 2596 comments I am 306 pages with only 50 pages I will see what will be resolved by the end since there is not much left of the book. I still really like the characters Baz and Simon the most sometimes they are getting closer while other times its one step forward and two steps back. I like the pther characters Penny is still an interesting character I also like Sheppard he is a interesting character. I am liking how the plot is progressing with them still trying to save Agatha and the many obstacles that get in the way of that. (view spoiler) I really like this book.

Cindee | 2596 comments I have finished this book and I really enjoyed it and I am looking forward to the sequel when it comes out. I loved all of the characters they were all well written although I still loved Simon and Baz best the other character were very interesting. I liked how it ended even with that part at the end that leads into the sequel and the as of yet unresolved issues between Baz and Simon hope the sequel wraps that up nicely.

Ok, so I'm only 10 pages in and the angst is already KILLING ME. Simon, baby, why would you ever break up with someone using a Maya Angelou quote? Why would you break up with Baz AT ALL? Anyway, I'm crying on the bus now and I love Baz more than ever.

Ritika Chhabra (justagirlhighonbooks) | 736 comments Done. I liked it. Probably even more than the first one. I mean, at least the book let go of its "Harry Potter" feels in this one. Anyhow, I'm rather excited to know what happened at Watford now. *facepalm*

Damselflies | 456 comments Started, since none of the others I started seems to be able to keep my attention at the moment. I know this is going to be an easy read I'll breeze through, maybe that'll help to continue the other books
