I thought that this was a really great book when I read it last year when it first appeared on the Wainwright Prize. I wouldn't say it was enjoyable though as he is describing the terminal decline of the seabirds off our coastlines and far out into the Atlantic. He has a beautiful way with words and can recommend Sea Room (which he signed for me)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments I'm currently reading it. Very heavy going, but crammed full of interesting stuff. Just read that some seabirds eat so much plastic because it gives off the same smell as their food.

Some of the early experiments on birds is shocking too.

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments Finished this yesterday, very good book, don't think I've ever read a book crammed full of so much info.

One thing stopped it getting all 5 stars, there were a lot of interesting graphs included and it wasn't obvious what they were showing, a bit of help to interpret them would have been good.
