I'm into everything as long as it's well written. I'll give you some examples so you can see if you like them. David Weber's Honor Harrington series, Jack Campbell's Lost fleet series, Honsinger's Man of War series, David Sherman's and Dan Crag's Starfist series, Rick Shelley's Dirigent Mercenary Corps series, Jean Johnson's Theirs not to Reason Why series, Peter Grant's Maxwell Saga series, David Gunn's Death's head series. Those are only a few examples. If you like the look of any of these, PM me and I'll give you some more suggestions.

They didn't think Flynne's brother had PTSD, but that sometimes the haptics glitched him. They said it was like phantom limb, ghosts of the tattoos he'd worn in the war, put there to tell him when to run, when to be still, when to do the bad-ass dance, which direction and what range...

When I read "BSG" and military sci-fi, the first expansion of that acronym was "Big Stupid Guns"--but then I realized it was for Battlestar Galactica.
couldn't find Licuna. Pandora's Star sounds cool, but it clocks in at 1144 pages!

I can't believe no one's mentioned Alastair Reynolds. Century Rain is a particular favourite of mine, but the The Revelation Space Collection is where the spaceships are.


The January Dancer, Up Jim River, In the Lion's Mouth, On the Razor's Edge. Each one is stand-alone although they do benefit from being read in order.
