What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

A rather poor and prideful Baltimore-area builder builds a gorgeous home for a wealthy family in town. He somewhat tricks the family into selling it him eventually. He and his family move in; when they do so, the wife sneakily paints a beautiful rocking chair bright blue to the husband's chagrin. The son of the family raises his own family there; the novel covers both families in residence but focuses on teh relationships between the younger family, focusing on both husband's and wife's internal life. book is from 2015-2018 i think.
