Any other topics you’d like to discuss? This is the last book in the series for now. How would you rate the series? Will you keep up with it on your own?

Phrynne | 607 comments I have loved the whole series and am very grateful to whoever proposed it as our group read. I will definitely ready new books as they come out.

I’ve loved this series, too, and hate that I won’t be reading a new story next month. Almost two years of these characters...I’m going to be in mourning😢

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments When this series was chosen for our group discussions, I really didn't know too much about it. I did have the first book on my kindle and decided to give it a try to see if it was something I wanted to continue. Well, the first book hooked me and I'm so glad we read this series. I learned so much about the history of New York and loved the characters. I'll certainly be keeping up with the series as I get my hands on the new books.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments I too love the historical research that is explained in the back of the books. I didn't realize this is the last in the series (so far). Doggone, gonna miss following our characters.

The next book comes out in April.

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments So, in the last couple of books, the author has brought back Serafina, Parnell Vaughn, and Black Jack Robinson who were featured in previous books. Can you think of anyone else who might pop up again?

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 7669 comments Mod
Good memory, Robin! I can’t think of anyone else.

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments I can't either. The characters that stand out to me were either the murder victims or the killers. Kind of hard to bring them back. Were there any killers that actually got away with it?

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 7669 comments Mod
I think in the early books there were a couple of society people that did. And, there was the woman that was a slave who got away with killing her mother-in-law.

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments I forgot about the woman who had been a slave in her former life.

I remember the three women that each "confessed" to a murder, so they let them all go. Maybe we'll see them back.
