Elizabeth (Alaska) | 14224 comments Here is something you might think about using when a task isn't a list, shelf, or in other ways sharply defined, like having specific title words. In these cases it might be useful to search reviews here at GR for a key word or very short phrase.

Below your friends reviews, ratings and adds is the Community Reviews section. There is a "search review text" field.

Simply enter your search term and look at results, if any. You might want to open a few "more" links and use your browser's find feature, rather than having to read more reviews than you'd planned.

Elizabeth (Alaska) | 14224 comments Some non-obvious (or hidden!) GR links.

Shelves:
https://www.goodreads.com/shelf
Searchable. Some GR users might have used different names for shelves and it is sometimes useful to use more than one term for searching. There are 50 per page and I believe the results are truncated to 1250.

Places:
https://www.goodreads.com/places
This list is alphabetical, but GR, in their infinite wisdom, has failed to provide good navigation. At the bottom of the page are page links. You'll have to guess where in the alphabet your chosen location might appear. Get close! And then you can edit the URL for the page number rather than having to navigate 4 pages at a time.

It's worth noting these places are only as good as the data entered on the book page. They may not meet a task's % requirement.

Elizabeth (Alaska) | 14224 comments You can search titles at Goodreads from anywhere on the internet with an add-on. I have only Chrome, but my guess is this is available for Firefox.
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/de...

Free and I use it all the time, including here at GR. Simply highlight the title, author or ISBN/ASIN you want from whereever you are, right click and "Search Goodreads Now".

Elizabeth (Alaska) | 14224 comments Navigating the new Lexile site.

On the main page, there are 3 options. The left one is

The books or just the words "Find a Book" are clickable and will take you to:

Just below "Quick Search" you can enter the name of the book in question, just like the search field at the old site. You can ignore the grade and student's lexile measure as not being useful for us at RwS.

Lexile says there is never a charge to use the site to search for a book.
