Savate and Bartitsu are the martial arts used by Sherlock Holmes as described by Arthur Conan Doyle misspelled as Baritsu - a martial arts founded by an English Railroad Engineer E.W Barton-Wright .
Bartitsu was founded in the Victorian Era and Incorporated Savate into its curriculum .

I have read that many people think that A C Doyle made an error in the spelling stating that Holmes was trained in Bartisu rather than Bartitsu. IMHO it was misspelled on purpose by Doyle, as the word "tit" in the middle would have been a bit risque in the 19th century.
