Hey all, I hope you had a nice Christmas/holiday break and also, Happy New Year to you!! I'm just following up on this R2R thread. Looks like there are still some reviews needing to be done. Here is my Goodreads/Amazon review and a link to my review on my personal blog.I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I've always had a fascination with mermaids and think it would be really cool if they existed. This story is about Mericle who is a 22-year-old veterinarian student in Fort Collins, CO. She soon learns that she is a princess who was born in the North Atlantic Ocean and she needs to go back into the ocean because her father the King is cra-cra and is trying to take over all of the ocean. The bad thing is, Mericle has been out of the ocean for 20 years and doesn't remember anything about living underwater.
I found the characters enjoyable, the relationship between Meri and her best friend Kelsey is like sisters. They are very close and will do anything for each other. I liked the character Mat, who is a "pure one" and is there to protect Meri and teach her everything she needs to know about going back to the Ocean.
I thought the writing flowed really well, it pulled you into the story, made you want to know what is going on with the characters. It was entertaining. I can't wait for the sequel to find out what happens to everyone.
