Okay, back to topic--it was an intense movie!

I've never read anything by Michael Palmer, do you have a favorite or recommendation I should start with?

Thanks for sharing. My first car was a Chevy Nova (1988-89 version). I'm debating whether to watch the movie (Coma), but with limited time on my hands am thinking when have I ever liked the movie better than the book (and I only gave the book 4 stars)...
This book is somewhat dated (was published in 1977). In keeping with the times (post Watergate and Vietnam) it calls into question the bedrock medical establishment. It's a pretty scary book. It had a nice pace and the characters are pretty well done. Overall I enjoyed it. I've had it on my list to read for quite some time after consistently seeing it on some of the Best of the Best books for Mystery/Suspense/Crime. Not bad for the money (I got it for $1.99 at a used book store).
Really the first of its kind from what I can tell. Interestingly enough, it was also made into a movie which was directed by Michael Crichton. Although the movie seemed to get good reviews, I'm not sure I'm that interested in seeing it as the book suit me just fine.
