Nina Markow, the ten-year old girl who was the last to be abducted, managed to escape. We get her point of view as she struggles to survive and save herself. Your thoughts on these scenes?

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments Nina was so very strong and smart throughout her ordeal. The scenes were captivating and encouraging. You could tell this was a girl with determination and you couldn't help but cheer her on.

I so loved this part of the story and that Brennan gave us her point of view. It’s a lesson in how to save yourself. Nina calmed herself down and forced herself to think, knowing she’d probably been abducted by the Slayer and would be murdered. I was so inspired by this little 10-year old.

I just wish we’d been part of her reunion with her mother. I wanted to feel that.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments I loved this part too. Nina was one smart and gutsy kid.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments I admired Nina, too, but also wanted to see her happily away from the lodge scene, not just written out.

Yeah, I’m curious as to why the author chose to leave this out after such a build up about her relationship with her mother.
