Theresa | 15522 comments Anybody else all excited about this???? I'm going to a NYPL event next week where Erin is interviewed by Kelly Braffet and after signs her new book. In meantime, here's this interview:

This may be one of those too rare moments when I start reading this book immediately, pushing aside whatever else.

Amy | 12915 comments I knew that this was her next book. It’s been on my TBR! It’s even on the real one, and has been for a while. I haven’t heard anybody review it yet. I can’t wait to hear what you think! I’m also excited about it

It is released on Tuesday, November 5. Day before the event I'm attending. I truly think this will be a 'must read immediately' book.

On the other hand, it then means years waiting for her next one...

Amy | 12915 comments I think that’s going to be a great event. I’m so happy for you that you get to go and hear her speak and maybe read from her book.

MargieD2017 | 331 comments I am so excited for you Theresa. To be able to speak with Erin directly and see her interact in public with others, sounds like a great opportunity to understand this author better. Her creative and descriptive talent is amazing. I am so looking forward to The Starless Sea release. Will be waiting anxiously to hear about your evening.

Theresa | 15522 comments There is also an interesting inteview with her in November issue of Book Page, a monthly review journal, that I get on Kindle. Sorry I can't link to it but you might be able to try out the current issue of the journal for free on Kindle.

Theresa | 15522 comments Tonight I was at NYPL for conversation between Erin Morgenstern and Kelly Braffet about Erin's new book The Starless Sea, writing and books. It was fantastic, in no small part due to how smart, dynamic, funny and creative these two women are. When at the signing after (Erin signs in gold...classy), I told both of them that I want to have cocktails and dinner with the two of them, I'll pay.

If you have a chance to attend or watch an interview or signing with either or both of these incredible women, do.

The book sounds amazing. I know what I am doing this weekend.

Nicole R (drnicoler) | 8088 comments So glad you had a wonderful time!! I am really looking forward to this book. I have a few in line before it, but I may be able to squeeze it in before the end of the year.

Amy | 12915 comments It so enhances a book to be able to hear from an author about its creation, inspiration, and process.

On Tuesday night I went to hear Tova Mirvis speak on her newest book. She lives here locally, and for the first time she wrote a memoir, rather than fiction, and its tough and brave to do that in front of your work, and with the potentially critical eyes around. She was a fabulous speaker, and I brought the book which has been languishing on my TBR. New York and Boston has no dearth of good authors. My home is home to Elinor Lipman, Alice Hoffman, and a whole host of others, with Jodi Piccoult a stone's throw away...

Erin lives in Massachusetts too...

Amy | 12915 comments Does she really! They all live here! We’re about to do in my impromptu bookclub, a book club event with an author that’s local and well known.

Sara (mootastic1) | 770 comments I just got this book from the library. I've not had a chance to read many pages yet, but I can already tell it is going to be a magical experience.

Theresa | 15522 comments I am counting the hours until I can start...and picking away at Proust during my commute this rainy day. Erin's book is also too pretty to risk getting water spattered from rain!
