Naimeh In the book Bird Box, by Josh Malerman, Malorie and her two children are on a river for twenty miles, blindfolded. In this world, there is some type of creature sending people into suicidal rage. Throughout her journey on the river, she has flashbacks to when she found out she was pregnant and when these suicides started to become more serious. After the death of her sister, Malorie went on a journey to find people and she encountered a group of people in a store. Her goal was to survive and give birth to her child. Not only is there an outbreak of suicides, Malorie and another housemate are pregnant and risk many things including death, miscarriages, and more. Malorie depends on hearing and cannot risk taking a look outside into the world. Josh Malerman gave a wonderful story with psychological terror and displayed the feeling of claustrophobia with all the covered windows and only wearing blindfolds out of their house. Even though the characters were trying to survive, I felt as if there were too many people in one household and it was overwhelming. Overall, I believe the author wrote a good story and I would recommend it to those who are interested in horror books.
