Monthly Challenges are BACK!

Monthly challenges re a fun way to get more reading in each month, and cross off some more books off your list!

If any of the categories fall into one of the challenge ones, I will try to connect them so you get more bang for you BOOK... I mean BUCK.

Focus on one, or all! You decide :)

====

There are tons of holidays all over the world, but did you know there is a holiday for ALMOST every day of the year? Some are well known, while others are absolutely ABSURD. Let's read some books to celebrate those!

1. Nov 5th- Book Lover's Day! (and what a day it is!)
Book Lovers Day encourages you to find a place in the shade to relax with a good book.Book reading is a great hobby. It's an important one, too.

-Read a book over 300 pages OR
-Read a book in one sitting OR
-Read the oldest book in your TBR

2. Nov 12th- Chicken Soup for the Soul Day
It's a celebration about you! According to the creators of the book series of the same name, Chicken Soup for the Soul Day was created as ".... a celebration of who you are, where you've been, where you're going, and who you will be thankful to when you get there!"

-Read any Chicken Soup for the Soul book OR
-Read a memoir OR
-Read a book with a chicken or any farm animal on the cover

3. Nov. 16- National Fast Food Day
Americans are always fast moving, always in a rush. As a result of our fast moving lifestyle, we need to eat quickly, and are usually unwilling or unable to wait long for our food to be prepared. As a result, fast food restaurants, came into existence. They have been a part of the American restaurant scene since the early 1950's.

-Read a book with any food on the cover OR
-Read a "guilty pleasure" book (this can be any genre- romance, scifi, steampunk- that others may consider silly or 'foofy' aka No classics lol) OR
-Read a book with a brightly colored cover

4. Nov 20- Absurdity Day
Isn't it totally absurd? Crazy or not, Absurdity Day is staring you right in the face. Some days are truely illogical and senseless, exactly the definition of Absurdity Day. So, by intent error, or just through surfing the net, you've stumbled upon this special, senseless day.....how absurd!

-Read a humor novel OR
-Read a book with a great plot twist OR
-Read the 99th book on your TBR

5. Nov 28- Red Planet Day
The planet Mars is referred to as the "Red Planet" because it appears red in color. Red Planet Day honors our celestial neighbor, the fourth planet in the solar system. Is Mars truly red in color? Scientists debated this question, even after the Mars Rovers landed and began to explore the planet. Why? Because the lenses used to take photos are tinted.

-Read a book with a red cover (must be 50%) OR
-Read the 4th, 14th, 44th or 144th book on your TBR OR
-Read a Sci-Fi book

I will keep it up for the future :)
