When you say that one shall start at "your country of origin" you simply mean that - if I take myself as an example - that I should start with a swedish book since I'm swedish? And does that mean that I'm "done with Europe " after reading that?
Another question has to do with all the red markings in tbe list of countries above. Is one obliged to read books from those countries or is it the contrary - shall I not read books from those countries?
Thank you and best regards from Nike in Sweden.

There are many different versions of this challenge - you can look at the posts by the moderator. In this case, I chose to visit one country per region only.
If you would like to set the same rules for yourself, then yes, start with a book set in Sweden and yes, you can be done with Europe after that.
The list of countries with the marks is simply my list of countries I've visited by reading. Since the rule I've set is to visit a new country, then I will not read books set in the countries I have marked.
You can start and mark your own list of countries. The moderator has posted an editable map as well, if you prefer that.
Glad to see your interest in reading around the world. This challenge has helped me realize that I needed to be more diverse in my reading.
All the best, Nike.
