Vickie (bookfan4ever) Since we had yet another tie, I'm putting up two threads for November. The second co-winner for November is The Andromeda Strain. As always, remember to use spoiler tags. Happy Reading!

I just finished my re-read less than a week ago! I believe this was the second Michael Crichton book I ever read and must confess, it’s a lot to digest with lots of technical language. But, I still very much enjoyed it and am so remarkably eager to read the sequel that I may need to buy it for myself instead of waiting to receive it as a Christmas gift. I hope others who voted for this one get a chance to read it and comment. I’m very interested in their thoughts!

StarMan (thestarman) | 1942 comments Especially considering it was published in 1969, it holds up pretty well as a techno-thriller, or a contemporary science fiction read. Imagine reading this danger-from-space story just a few months after humans first walked on the moon.

OMG, Yes! That would be scary!

Pien | 601 comments I like both books! I don’t think I’ll make it this month, but will read them both soon hopefully

Candace (candywilliams) | 491 comments I read this ages ago, and probably have a paperback around here somewhere. It's possibly his best. Enjoy.

I just pre-ordered Andromeda Evolution which comes out on the 12th this month. Does anyone else plan to buy/read that one?

Candace (candywilliams) | 491 comments I think I will.

Seb How are people getting on with this? I'm almost 40% of the way through. It's intriguing in places but I'm finding it very slow.

Vickie (bookfan4ever) Yep, I only just started it and noticed that as well. His intro said that at times it would be science heavy, so I'm just skimming when those passages pop up.😉

Seb I’ve now finished the book. I didn’t enjoy it much at all I’m afraid. It had some interesting bits but I only really enjoyed the end of the book from almost 80% onwards.

I can see why some people rave about it but it just wasn’t my cup of tea.

Candace (candywilliams) | 491 comments Did anyone see the movie? I saw it first before reading the book. I’m one of those who watched the moon landing and The Andromeda Strain is still scary! Maybe more so now. 😳

Vickie (bookfan4ever) I've finally finished this one and actually ended up really enjoying it.

Candace (candywilliams) | 491 comments I have Andromeda Revolution on my wish list, so If I get it if not for Xmas then for my birthday next month.

I pre-ordered it and read it immediately. Sadly, I did not like it 😕
