I vote Rowan Whitethorn!!!

Lauren Either Rowan or Chaol for me. I love Rowen because he is strong caring, and doesn't go easy on Celaena because he believes in her. I also like Chaol because he loves Celaena so much.

message 3: by Jay (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jay Rowan. I don't know why, but they balance each other out so well.

KritikaB Rowan plsss ... I think they are well matched. They are both Fae and very powerful. I think he understands Celaena/Aelin better than Chaol.

The Book Addict Randomfreckles wrote: "Either Rowan or Chaol for me. I love Rowen because he is strong..."

I agree that Chaol loves Celaena, but do you feel there are parts of her he cannot accept?

The Book Addict Kritika wrote: "Rowan plsss ... I think they are well matched. They are both Fae..."

My thoughts exactly!

Anum Rowan or Dorian

Lauren I personally don't care for Dorian because I don't trust him. He seems to not accept Celaena while Chaol does and Rowen is amazing

message 9: by Kam (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kam Brooksmoore Chaol....dont judge me i still love him!

Lauren CHAOL IS BEAUTIFUL

message 11: by Celaena (new)

Celaena Cheyenne CHAOL!! chaoleana till the end!!

Mahamed Dorian all the way!!

Laura I am still a proud Chaol shipper. I don't really want Rowan to move beyond close friendship, I think he's awesome, but not like that. Plus I think that Celaena wants to accept a mortal life and that's not gonna be possible with him. Chaol struggles with Celaena's past but like...who wouldn't. But he still loves her and by far is sacrificing the most for her imo.

Francesca dorian.

■©atherine■ Rowan. he's byfar the best candidate.
Chaol doesn't deserve her.
She only considers Dorain as friends. (tbh i think he's better off without her. team Dorian)
Aedion. really?

I don't really consider Aedion, but since I heard of some who do, I decided to include him as a candidate. Personally, I feel that he and Celaena have more of a sibling relationship, and wouldn't want them to be romantically involved.

Karen Chaol. Rowan is like her brother.

Julia Vieira Randomfreckles wrote: "I personally don't care for Dorian because I don't trust him. He seems to not accept Celaena while Chaol does and Rowen is amazing"

what?

The Book Addict Katelyn wrote: "Rowan but I like Choal too and don't want to see his heart broken. Celeana and Rowan don't really have the right type of relationship to end up together but I can see it as a possibility."

I wouldn't want Chaol to get hurt, too. If Celaena doesn't go back to him, I hope he finds someone else.

Celine THIS IS EASY....ROWAN!!!
IT JUST HAS TO BE, I MEAN COME ON. THE MOMENTS THEY HAVE KEEP ME OFF MY BED AND SEAT. I JUST WANT MORE OF THEM.

Ifrah Chaol!

SJM said Rowan and Celaena have nothing romantic between them. I would rather them just have an epic friendship.

message 22: by Rhi (new) - rated it 5 stars

Rhi Chaol! I have wanted them together since the first book!

Jacquelyn I like Rowan but people keeps saying their relationship is strictly friendship??????? Why???? But otherwise Chaol

Jacquelyn that honestly makes me sad... I like Rowan a lot

Laura Rhi wrote: "Chaol! I have wanted them together since the first book!"

YESSSSSS. This! He is always there for her, even at the beginning of the book when he is unsure if he can trust her he still takes the time to train her and learn her story... and I think overcoming his (misguided)loyalty to the crown for her says a lot about his character and his love for her! I think if she turns his back on him he won't find anybody else. He loves her with like 500% PASSION!!!

message 26: by Diana (last edited Nov 25, 2014 01:25AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Diana Simmons Prince Dorian...1st love interest on site after Sam that could not continue forward because he was a Prince/she the assassin AND his father was the enemy. But as he mans up he will finally be her true equal--both royalty born to rule, both have powers, and both have ties to the 1st rulers. Prince Dorian only needs to grow in valor, self-sacrifice, defeat his father/put things right, and have situations and page time to win the heroine...I may love all the other love interests and their stories but this is the only logical way I feel it can go.... because of the way the story has been constructed so far....

I totally get what you are saying, and I think a lot of it is valid. But, I don't know that Maas is going to make it that simple for us. Also, I don't know that Celaena, even if she has ties to be a ruler, would 1) actually want to rule and 2) actually be a good ruler of people. Considering her past, a lot of political leaders would not want a past assassin to be ruling over them. In that way she would be no better than the current king. And as she says in CoM, she desires to be a "normal" girl. Being with Dorian wouldn't really give her a chance at that. But again, that might be too simple an answer, and Celaena might have to rule whether she enjoys that life or not.

.stechi. 2 or 5. ^ agree with Diana

Cassandra Dorian is my first pick. And then would be Rowan. Anyone but Chaol.

I am so shocked Sarah J. Maas would even make him a love interest. It made no sense. The Chaol and Celaena romance also might have been my least favorite moments.

Emily Merlin I choose Rowan!(:

Ifrah Chaol and Celaena are perfect together! It has to happen!

Yes, they've got all kinds of issues at the moment but I'm hoping that something works out between them. It'll take a while and a of work but it's gonna happen! It has to!

Lauren Ifrah you are right!

Lauren I like your name Ifrah! Its really pretty!

Sabrine From the very beginning, I was a die hard Chaol fan, but then Rowan came along and he fit alongside her in so many ways that just leaves me completely torn between the two (don't get me started on Sam *still crying*). For me, Chaol lost a lot of points towards the end, but I just know his character is going to go through a tremendous change that may end up becoming what Aelin needs in a partner.

I see Dorian being a best friend (please let everything turn out alright). I don't think Aelin can have two men of ice in her life unless she needs that much power to cool her off =P

Aedion is definitely a sibling type. I cannot wait for that reunion. This man better survive till the end intact.

If we look at Manon, she is described as ice, Asterin fire and Sorrel rock. This means that Aelin still needs her rock. It also points to conflict arising between Aelin and Mannon, but I am almost positive there will be an alliance between the two. I sure hope so.

I mentioned this in the Rowan/Aelin thread, but I think this is too huge to go unnoticed and I would like to know your thoughts. Rowan smells like pine and snow just like how Terrasen smells to Aelin. What really blew my mind is his physical description. He has silver hair with pine green eyes. Um. What are Terrasen's royal colors? Oh yeah. Green and silver. HOLY COW. I am still completely baffled by this. Too huge to just be a coincidence. Rowan is literally home for Aelin.

My point in all this is that I am torn between Chaol and Rowan, but as far as balanced power couples go, Rowan and Aelin all the way.

Anthenom No one. I think it's extremely powerful the way that Sarah Maas is playing out Celaena's love life. She has moved on from Dorian, and has realized that Chaol might not have been the right one for her. Aedion is like a brother to her, and will always protect her, but even Celaena has denied the two of them together. And her relationship with Rowan is so powerful, but I don't think it should be romantic. There's something special in the way that they are so intimate with each other but not romantically. Their relationship has surpassed romance, and is an even stronger bond- one of the soul. I would prefer if it stayed that way, as I feel making their relationship romantic would ruin this bond that Sarah Maas has so cleverly constructed.

For some reason, Dorian made me want to punch him squarely in the face. He's a coward until near the end, and even that won't compensate for my wrath upon him. Chaol... as much as it looks like he loves Aelin and torn between loyalty and love, he was a crappy excuse of a once upon a lover. He's way worse than Dorian, he made me want to erase his existence with a pencil altogether. And for Rowan... his cold and crass behaviour towards Aelin didn't surprise me when he reveals why he was like that. It made me hate him, just when was starting to warm up to him. As for Aedoin, he sounded like he was into incest the way he described Aelin and how he so yearned to see her *cringe* And Aelin, she's a whiny little bitch -.- honestly for an assassin, she whines and complain so much. God this book is so frustrating and awful.

■©atherine■ lol your comment made me laugh.
my reaction wasn't that bad. i only hated Chaol and Aedion. i was Team Dorian in the past books. so yeah i have to stick to my team even though he was not that good in here.

I've debated this route taking place for a while and I can see it happening. Personally, I would love to see her have someone at her side romantically, but by the end of this, Celeana is going to be surrounded by so much love from her kingdom, court and allies that that will make me so happy in itself. The real and deep human emotions portrayed in this series is one of the main reasons why I love it so much. The character development is only going to continue to grow and Chaol is one of those that I think is going to surprise us all. If there is one thing I am sure will happen is that Celeana will greet her people by herself as queen just like the vision portrayed. Whoever she decides to have as king(if she does), her people will accept because of her. My heart still leans towards Rowan, but as long as he remains with her until the end, that will make me happy. Right now I'm just praying these characters survive.

Oh trust me, Chaol and Celeana's love story was wayyyyy too quick for my liking that even Bella and Edward's love story was like Shakespeare compared to that utter rubbish (I am so sorry Shakespeare, I sincerely do with all of my heart because I love you, haha). Although Twilight is utter rubbish itself, haha

Cyana Scriptora I'm on Chapter 36.. and I still keep waiting for there to be some type of romantic moment with Rowan. He just got through telling her his past and now I'm like okay..that explains a lot. I'm torn between Rowan and Chaol right now.. I think there is definite chemistry between Rowan and Celeana.. but you get the feeling that it could just be the beginning of a really strong friendship.. I guess we will see...

Read N' Ramble I think Rowan's a great match for Celeana. he understands her, and all the people she's lost he can easily reflect with his own. I also like how the fact his strengths match hers.
I can't imagine a relationship between Chaol and her anymore, to be honest in the beginning I hadn't shipped her with anyone because I felt like none of them...were her equal. If anything I preferred her with Sam, just because of the way she thought about him with so much love.
But now Rowan can match her magic, and her endurance and strength, he's greatly skilled.
Whereas Chaol to me would be her anvil, who brings her down the fight because of his mortality. He weakens her, where Rowan, when Celeana's down, he'll give her even more of his strength. He protects her and she can protect him just as equally. Where Chaol is very vulnerable.
And as for Dorian, I don't know what's going to happen to him, the death he witnessed with Sorcha was brutal and now under the inffluence of the king...
I believe he can be saved but he's definitely not going to be the same...
Aedion, I'm excited to see when the two finally meet, but that's more of a sibling relationship.
But seriously.
If Celeana finds one more man...I swear to God...

I agree with you completely. In the beginning, I was cheering for Chaol, but after having a better understanding of who Celeana is as a person and Rowan coming along, I can't picture her with Chaol anymore. I know he will go through some great character development, but it seems like while their goals will be similar, their paths will take them separate ways.
The way I think of it is Rowan will move heaven and Earth to make her happy and keep her safe. He has all her best interests at heart and matches her on a level no one else can. They have nothing to hide from one another. He's not intimidated by anything that she is or will become. They both have shed a lot of blood and have done regrettable things, but have learned to live and move on. In essence, these two have their own private world together that no one can ever hope to understand. Not to mention, these two truly care deeply for one another.

Compared to Aelin, Chaol and Dorian have lived very sheltered lives and were ignorant of many things before she came along. It is in no way their fault based on their upbringing, but that's how it is. Mentally, Aelin has always been much farther ahead based on her experiences and finally someone came along who could understand all that.
I'm hoping that a slow realization of her feelings towards Rowan is developing. Somehow I think Rowan has it figured it out by now. If something were to happen between them, I'd want it to occur under the right circumstances. She has enough to do without adding the complexities of a relationship to the mix. For these reasons, I highly doubt Maas will be introducing another love interest.

If it's not Rowan in the end, I'm sure Maas will have shaped an accepting and beautiful relationship (or none *horror*) that I can accept. It will take a lot of convincing though ;]

Haha I went through the same feelings. Hopefully you haven't read any huge spoilers. My previous posts don't have any spoiler tags on them so for sure avoid those.
I think you'll really enjoy what is going to happen between them. As for what it means later on, you might be joining the rest of the crowd who are defending their pairings =]
Only time will tell, but oh what an agonizing wait it is.
