It's hard to believe we are already looking to 2020!

Because we are launching an Around the World challenge for 2020, I thought our first group read should have an Around the World theme. It's a pretty easy theme. Let's face it, it is the time of year where we all have so much going on anyway.

For January 2020, nominated books need to be a historical fiction novel that takes place in a place you have either traveled to or would like to travel to. It can be a country. It can be a specific city. When nominating your book, please make sure to include TITLE, AUTHOR, and the PLACE the book is set in.

REMINDERS
EVERYONE GETS ONE NOMINATION AND ONE SECOND - Please make sure you are clearly stating whether you are nominating a book or seconding a book. Commentary about books needs to be in the appropriate threads. When there is lots of extra chatter in this thread, it gets difficult for the moderators to keep track of which books need to be included on the poll.
NO SELF NOMINATIONS- Self nominations will be deleted and members will potentially be removed from the group.
For all other nomination rules and procedures, please see this thread-
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

For all other past group reads, please see our shelf-
https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...

Nominations will close on 11/15.

This book doesn't seem like it would qualify given that it is a memoir. Also, please remember to include the author in your nomination.

Jane wrote: "The Bull of Mithros by Anne Zouroudi set in modern Greece."

I'm not sure this book meets our genre requirements. Events must take place 50 years or more in the past. This sounds like a contemporary novel.

This nomination will not count. All members get one nomination and these books don't appear to fit our historical fiction criteria.
