Katherine (kiik) | 6 comments This is the third time I'm attempting this. I'm determined to complete it this time around. I have nooo reason to buy any more books, so I think I'll set a rule for myself that I cannot purchase a book for myself in 2020 until I climb this mountain! If that doesn't motivate me, I don't know what will. Here we go...

Welcome back, Katherine! Third time's the charm!

Leslie Good luck with your climb Katherine! And with your 'no purchase' goal as well -- that is the truly difficult one for me.

Katherine (kiik) | 6 comments Okay, we're about 2 months into the new year, and I've finally finished the veeerrrryyy looooong Outlander book 5, The Fiery Cross. That was an absurdly long read, so I'm hoping things will pick up from here, because I do miss buying books...

1. The Fiery Cross

Carla B (carlamwestyahoocom) | 52 comments I know what you mean. I'm reading IT by Stephen King right now which is also insanely long! It helps me to read easy books on the side.

Katherine (kiik) | 6 comments Okay, this actually seems possible now that I’ve moved on to more typically-sized books. I flew through the audiobook of “Yes Please” by Amy Poehler. If any of you are interested, I highly recommend the audiobook. There’s exclusive audio content, and the way Amy tells her stories is absolutely delightful.

1. The Fiery Cross
2. Yes Please

Huzzah!

Katherine (kiik) | 6 comments Yay! 3 books down and we're not done with the third month! Gives me a bit more wiggle room to finish reading a library book that I have to return soon. I just finished listening to "Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood," by Trevor Noah. An absolutely stunning memoir about growing up in South Africa during and post apartheid. I highly recommend it.

1. The Fiery Cross
2. Yes Please
3. Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood

Keep on truckin'!

Katherine (kiik) | 6 comments Just finished “The Martian” by Andy Weir! Such a fun read. I had already seen the movie, so I was worried that I might get bored with the book, but the narration was as entertaining as promised. :)

1. The Fiery across
2. Yes Please
3. Born a Crime
4. The Martian

Onward!!

Katherine (kiik) | 6 comments Also, my reading has actually slowed down since the start of the apocalypse, because I listen to a lot of audiobooks, and I’m not traveling to and from work right now. However, I am still working, so I don’t exactly have more time than usual. I’ve had to sneak in listening times when doing chores around the house. Introvert hint: even though my family is literally always around, this gives me a sense of escape and a chance to refuel my introvert soul.

Hope all are doing well in this crazy time!
