Jonathan Terrington (thewritestuff) | 129 comments This is the thread for our November challenge for animated Children's films. If you have read the book or seen the film then comments for both can be written in here! I apologise for being so lax in getting around to this because life has a habit of getting in the way of grand ideas...

Alana (alanasbooks) | 730 comments A very fun re-visit into the world of Alice. The narration by Jim Dale certainly didn't hurt! I kept remembering scenes from the old animated Disney film. It's all nonsense and craziness of course, but in a fun, dream-like way that a child can understand and an adult can reminisce upon. In fact, the courtroom scene is so very like a session of Congress that it's quite laughable for an adult! I will certainly enjoy going back to Wonderland again in the future.

I haven't seen the new live-action film (nor the upcoming release of Through the Looking-Glass). How does that one shape up?

Book Vamp Jade Williams (honey01) | 24 comments I loved the book as well as the animated versions and the live action piece was BEAUTIFULLY done. And I agree totally with Alana on the courtroom scene. But underneath the beauty of Alice in Wonderland, even as a kid, it kind of freaked me out. There was always two thoughts at the back of my mind, of course about this slip between worlds where maybe you could fall through and of course what if Alice was descending into madness each time she entered wonderland?

Almost like taking a drug, like each time she goes, she loses a little more of herself?
