As in previous years, I'm going to start the December activity early giving a longer time span to compensate for days spent on holiday festivities.
So, we're going to turn in lists early, choose names early, and get everyone reading with hopefully an extra week to finish that one last book before the New Year.

Ready? Here are the details:

If you are willing to place one of your December reading choices in the hands of another person, leave a comment here with at least five books and no more than ten from your TBR shelf. Participants need to leave comments no later than Sunday, November 17th.

Here's how it will work:
Sophia will match people up and leave a comment with a list of who will choose for whom.
When you see the person you are to pick for, then look at their list in the above comments and leave a new comment with their name and the book you chose for them by November 24th.

You also need to watch and see what book your person chose from your list for you.
You have the rest of the month to read the book.

So if this sounds like something you would like to do, just comment below leaving your name and list of book choices for someone to pick your December book.

Howdy, everyone!

Thanks for getting your lists up promptly. Sorry for my delay in getting the drawing posted (tech difficulties of internet intermittent variety).

Anyway, the list is below. The person listed on the left chooses for the one on the right. Go back to your person's list and then post your pick for them. Be sure to check for your own pick.
Please have all picks made by Nov 24th.
Oh and if you want, you can stop back by after you finish your book to let us know what you thought of it.

Wishing you all well on your last pick-it book of the year!

Howdy, Patricia!

I drew your name. You have some sensational ones up in your list. I picked The Particular Charm of Miss Jane Austen by Ada Bright and Cass Grafton for you.

Kirk (goodreadscomkirkc) | 510 comments Hi Christina!!!

Eastern Mass calling Western Mass again!! Challenging book call for several reasons. A favorite author but a book I didn't love...but everyone else did. A few books that I'd like to try.

But after hours of debate (ok, minutes)...going with a book I loved and an author I really like...lol I think I have a physical copy but who knows where it is....

The Courtship of Edward Gardiner! Enjoy whenever you get to it!!! :) :) Cheers!!

Christina Morland | 69 comments Hi, Kirk!

Sending my gratitude all the way from Western Mass! So glad I can use the Internet instead of Route 2. An acquaintance from Cambridge, who was supposed to come to Western Mass today, said she had to turn around due to the icy weather. Hope you're staying warm and safe out there in the wilds of Eastern Mass!

Best,
Christina

message 12: by Christina (new)

Christina Morland | 69 comments Kristin, I've only read one of the titles you listed, but several are on my TBR, and the others look promising, as well. I like the mix of novellas and novels, as well as the different P&P perspectives offered here (Charlotte, Mr. Collins, Mr. Bennet).

I'm most curious about Longbourn Letters and The Clergyman's Wife, so I'm going to flip a coin. Ready? Longbourn Letters is heads, The Clergyman's Wife is tails. Okay, here it goes (five minutes later, after fishing a dime out of my incredibly messy bag...) Tails!

The Clergyman's Wife: A Pride and Prejudice Novel it is! Hope you enjoy!

Thanks!!! Yes...Rt 2 the longest skating rink in the world from Nov to March! Indeed wild in Eastern Mass as drivers still not down with the change in weather requiring actually driving near the speed limit... especially in the "fine" weather we've been not enjoying! Cheers!
