Yeah - Rose. I give her Oceane (my fave), Cecile, Cosette, Fleur, and a couple dozen others and she chooses Rose. Is that even French?
It is a pretty name. She and Pepe Le Pew can cancel each other out.

I love this question. I can't believe I was too late. I love baby names...I picked out six myself (3 kids--6 names). Anyway...Amelia Claire would have gotten my vote. My daughter's name is Claire, and I think this is the French spelling.
However, Amelia Rose is beautiful.
Congratulations.

Your comment on the requirement of special nicknames for loved ones made me dig up an old poem:
He called me by my name today.
Just as if
we'd only just met
and had not been together
these ten long years.
He called me by my name.
And I was struck
by the wrongness of it,
clattering over my nerves
like fingernails on a chalkboard.
It doesn't fit anymore, my name,
at least not with him, between us.
It's too formal,
it does not express
the side of me that he alone knows.
When did it happen?
When did the change take place?
I'm no longer "me"
I'm part of a "we"
that has outgrown my name.
I like Rose as a middle name. I gave it to my daughter too. :)

Welcome to the world, Amelia Rose!

Thanks for sharing the poem, Sheila.
Ko. There is a small bear at your door. Do not answer.
